Curriculum Overview

EXPLORING THE JOURNEY OF LEARNING

Al Ittihad Private Schools adopts a K – 12 American-based curriculum aligned with the international standards; namely the California Common Core State Standards (CA-CCSS) for Mathematics, English, Humanities, and Art, California Computer Science Standards and International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) for Computer Science, as well as the New Generation Science Standards (NGSS) for Science. For Arabic, Islamic Studies, Social Studies, and Moral Education, the curriculum is aligned with the standards of the Ministry of Education (for both Arab and Non-Arab students).

The schools provide a coherent, guaranteed, and viable curriculum to ensure that all students have access to the same high-quality curriculum. Furthermore, our commitment extends beyond academic rigor. We place a strong emphasis on providing a diverse range of extracurricular activities that cater to the diverse interests of our students across all phases of the school. These activities not only serve to engage students beyond the classroom but also play a pivotal role in nurturing their inherent talents and skills. This holistic approach ensures that our students develop into confident learners, driven by a pursuit of excellence in all their endeavors. Embracing a mastery-based learning methodology, we encourage students to engage in inquiry-based learning, which in turn promotes critical thinking and strengthens effective problem-solving skills. This methodology empowers students to become active participants in their own educational journey, fostering a deeper understanding of concepts and encouraging continuous growth.

From the foundational years in Kindergarten through to the culmination of Grade 12, Al Ittihad Private Schools wholeheartedly integrate the national identity, Emirati culture, ethical values, and the Arabic language into our educational fabric. These integral components are not only present within our curricula but also resonate throughout our programs and pedagogical practices. This approach ensures that our students not only excel academically but are also well-versed in their cultural heritage, ethically responsible, and proficient in both their native language and the broader global context. In essence, Al Ittihad Private Schools' curriculum is meticulously designed to prepare students for success in an interconnected world. By encompassing academic excellence, a commitment to cultural values, and a nurturing of individual potential, we empower students to thrive academically, culturally, and personally. Our curriculum serves as a roadmap for fostering well-rounded individuals who possess the skills, values, and perspectives necessary to contribute positively to the global community.

Our schools also play a pivotal role in preparing students for key international assessments aligned with the UAE National Agenda Parameters (NAP), including MAP, PISA, TIMSS, IBT, and PIRLS. We equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to surpass in these benchmark tests, reflecting global competencies. Moreover, we guide high school students through graduation and equivalency requirements, ensuring university readiness by supporting their preparation for standardized exams such as IELTS, TOEFL (English proficiency), and SAT Math.

Admission, Registration, and Placement: Al Ittihad Private Schools aim to recruit and retain students, preparing them as global thinkers in a changing world. Our policies align with Federal Law No. (29) of 2006 on the Rights of People of Determination and outline the admission and placement procedures.

Student Retention and Promotion: Students typically advance yearly with their age group.

Kindergarten to Grade 5: Students are promoted to the next grade, except in rare cases where retention is necessary.

Grades 6 to 12: Promotion depends on meeting curriculum requirements. A student may not be retained in the same grade more than twice or in more than two different grades during their school education. Necessary support will be provided.

Special Education Needs: Students on an Individual Education Plan who meet their goals progress to the next grade. Students with special needs are not retained or failed; their plans are adjusted if progress isn't met.
